Billy Schmidt is a creative thinker with an eye for design and a marketing mind. He is a classically trained musician, Eagle Scout, and played collegiate Baseball and Cross Country while obtaining his Bachelor's degree in Business Management. While finishing his Masters degree at Florida Atlantic University in Music and Entertainment Business, he began his professional career with iHeartRadio. As the Digital Director he managed the department developing content for the websites and social media of nine stations. His drive for creating original material soon shifted him into full time video production, graphic/web design, and concert photography. Meanwhile, his two music projects, Raggy Monster and The Whiskey Wasps began to experience commercial success, sharing the stage with Smashing Pumpkins, Slightly Stoopid, Ed Sheeran, Gary Clark Jr, Train, Misfits, and The Charlie Daniels Band. Billy also produced, directed, and edited several music videos that brought international attention to the bands. They toured the country from 2013 - 2017, ending with a 26 state tour including historic venues in NYC, Miami, Nashville, and San Francisco.
Billy moved to California in 2018 and started Creative by the Sea, a freelance marketing business that managed branding and promotion, photography, web design/analytics, social media, and lifestyle videos. The Whiskey Wasps released their music video, “Carmel by the Sea ”, in April 2018, which was licensed to a Bay Area realtor and facilitated the sale of a $4,000,000 house in Carmel. It also led to a performance at Keller Williams’ annual conference in New Orleans to over 17,000 people. The video gained local and national attention, and caught the eye of Tim, who recognized Billy’s creativity and eye for effective marketing as the perfect fit for the team’s new Marketing Director.
